Lockwood Companies has appointed Michael Pico as Chief Operating Officer. Pico joins the organization with more than 25 years of executive leadership experience across affordable housing, multifamily, and senior living. Most recently he served as President and CEO of The Millennia Companies, where he led a national portfolio of more than 33,000 units and guided the organization through a complex period while strengthening operations, performance, and culture. In his new role he will directly lead Management Operations, with a focus on driving property-level excellence, developing high-performing teams, strengthening operations, and supporting continued growth.
Lockwood Communities is the residential communities brand operated under Lockwood Companies. Lockwood Management, established in 2000 as a full-service multifamily management company dedicated to resident satisfaction and client success, provides the day-to-day management services for the portfolio. The appointment places operational leadership in direct support of the property management structure that oversees Lockwood Communities’ holdings.
Lockwood Communities maintains a portfolio of more than 30 apartment communities and townhomes throughout Michigan and Ohio. The communities include affordable and income-based apartments as well as market-rate options. Each community is managed by onsite teams that the company describes as service-oriented professionals available to answer resident questions and concerns and to provide guidance to current and prospective residents. Onsite management and leasing teams oversee these residential settings as part of the broader operational model now under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer.
