Webaspx co-founder and 25-year industry veteran to lead continued growth and investment in the UK, where Routeware now works with more than 170 local authorities

LONDON, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Routeware, a global provider of solutions for waste and environmental services, today announced the appointment of Calum Forsyth as Managing Director of Routeware UK. Forsyth will lead the company's UK business as it continues to grow and invest in the UK market.

Forsyth brings more than 25 years of experience in waste and environmental services technology and a deep knowledge of Routeware's products, customers and market. He co-founded Webaspx in the UK in 2000, leading it to UK market leadership and helping to establish route optimisation as standard practice for waste collection. He went on to lead EasyRoute's entry into North America. Both businesses grew by more than 20% a year before joining Routeware in 2019. Over the following seven years, Forsyth held a series of executive roles at Routeware, most recently leading M&A and partnerships across North America, the UK and Japan.

"Calum helped build our UK business, and few people know our customers, our products and this market as well as he does," said Jeremy Collins, CEO of Routeware. "The UK is an important growth market for Routeware and we're continuing to invest here. Calum's leadership will help us bring more councils and waste companies the tools they need to deliver efficient, reliable services for their residents and customers."

Since the beginning of 2026, Routeware UK has increased its customer base from nearly 100 to over 170 customers across its route optimization, in-cab and fleet management, garden waste permit management, and digital resident engagement solutions. SmartCity, introduced to the UK market in 2025, is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that helps local authorities run more efficient, effective and sustainable operations across waste and recycling, street cleansing and highway winter maintenance.

Routeware further reinforced its commitment to the UK in April 2026 with the acquisition of PermiServ, the UK market leader in garden waste permit management for local authorities. Together, Routeware and PermiServ offer councils a more connected operating model, linking resident engagement, permitting, routing, in-cab systems and compliance workflows in a single platform.

"I've spent most of my career working in the UK waste and environmental services industry, and I'm delighted to be leading Routeware's UK business," said Forsyth. "Councils and waste companies are being asked to deliver more with tighter budgets, and the right technology makes a real difference. With EasyRoute, SmartCity, ReCollect and now PermiServ, we can offer the market a connected set of tools. My focus is on making sure our customers get the most from our solutions, and on continuing to grow our presence across the UK."
